Editorial Policy
FrontlinePay publishes guidance on NHS pay, pensions, rights and careers. Because these figures affect real financial decisions, we hold ourselves to explicit rules about how content gets made.
Where our figures come from
Every pay figure traces back to a primary source: NHS Employers pay circulars and the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service Handbook (Agenda for Change), the DDRB and NHS Pay Review Body reports, NHS Pension Scheme Regulations 2015 and NHSBSA member guidance, HMRC income tax and National Insurance rates, and the Scottish Government's NHS Circulars for Scotland-specific figures. See our full Source Policy.
How often we update
Pages are updated whenever a pay award, tax year change or pension rule actually changes — not on a fixed schedule. Each guide shows a "last updated" date. Pay negotiations (especially resident doctors' pay) move fast; where a figure is genuinely in dispute or under negotiation, we say so rather than presenting one number as settled fact.
AI-assisted, human-directed
Some content on FrontlinePay is drafted with AI assistance and checked before publishing. See our AI Use Disclosure for the detail on what that means in practice.
What we won't do
- We won't present a forecast or an unconfirmed pay offer as a confirmed fact.
- We won't claim affiliation with NHS England, DHSC, any NHS trust, or any regulator or union.
- We won't give individual financial, legal, tax or immigration advice — our tools are guidance, not a substitute for a qualified adviser.
- We won't leave a known error live once we know about it — see our Corrections Policy.
- We won't let a commercial partnership change what a calculator tells you your own numbers are.
